Due to the different educational models in Australia and China, many students are unable to adapt to the learning rhythm of Australia. The lack of individual learning ability has led to the failure of many subjects. If students’ academic performances cannot meet the requirements repeatedly, students will usually receive a warning email that reminds students to seek help from the course advisor. If there is no improvement after the warning, students will typically receive a “show cause” email.
Receiving a Show Cause email means that the student’s academic performance cannot meet the specified requirements, so the students are required to show reasonable causes for their failure to meet the standard.
Generally, if you have the following circumstances, you will receive a show-cause email:
Fail more than 50% of the subjects over the two-consecutive semester; some universities will send show cause email when students fail more than 40% of their subjects
Double fail one subject or even triple fail
Violation of the Enrolment Condition; for example: insufficient attendance
Cannot complete the course within the maximum time allowed
A reasonable and convincing written explanation includes:
Reasons for poor marks: must have compelling reasons that cannot be controlled by yourself, whether physical or psychological
Providing relevant documents such as a medical certificate to support your arguments
A detailed study plan which can convince that students can continue to complete their studies successfully
Carefully analyse how students will overcome the difficulties that lead to poor grades and take the initiative to propose extracurricular tutoring to improve their next semester grades
Our success stories
